Speaker: Matt Sepic is a correspondent for MPR News based in Minneapolis. He focuses much of his reporting on courts and legal affairs. He contributes frequently to NPR's national coverage. Matt began his career at WOUB in Athens, Ohio, while a student at Ohio University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in journalism with a minor in political science. He continued at public radio stations in Evansville, Indiana, and St. Louis before joining MPR News in 2010. Matt's work has been recognized with several awards and distinctions including multiple Eric Sevareid Awards from the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association, a second place National Headliner Award, and an Ethics in Journalism Award from the Society of Professional Journalists. He enjoys road trips and camping with his family, especially at Minnesota's many wonderful state parks and in the Boundary Waters at low-mosquito season.
The Hamline Midway Library: This branch of the St. Paul Public Library opened in July 2026. The library’s design incorporates the historical stone arch entryway from its predecessor building, several examples of public art, and five brief poems etched into its surrounding sidewalk. Come explore the library and these artistic elements before or after our meeting on October 21!
Parking and Transportation: The Hamline Midway library has only limited parking (three first-come/first-served spots) behind its building. Library staff suggest relying on street parking within the neighborhood. The library is also located near stops on the 67 and Metro A bus lines.
