Position Opening: Faculty Services Librarian

The University of Minnesota Law Library is accepting applications for the position of Faculty Services Librarian.  Primary areas of responsibility include managing and supporting the quality and efficiency of research provided to Law School faculty; providing expert research support to Law School faculty; collaborating with other reference librarians to optimize faculty research services; and directing the Law Library's law student research assistants, and providing instruction and consultation services for faculty members' research assistants. The Faculty Services Librarian designs and implements new service initiatives for faculty and works closely with faculty members to maintain awareness of their current scholarship and evolving research interests.

The Faculty Services Librarian is a member of the Law Library’s reference team, providing general reference and research assistance to all Library patrons, and participating in the reference schedule rotation. The position serves as liaison to the Law School’s Minnesota Law Review, and participates in collection development. The Faculty Services Librarian may be assigned other responsibilities, including participation in legal research instruction.

The Faculty Services Librarian represents the Law Library on campus, regional, and national levels, engages in research and scholarship relevant to law librarianship, legal education, or substantive legal subjects, and participates in professional service activities.
