Job Description

Faegre Baker Daniels has an exciting opportunity for a Research Services Manager to work in our Information Resources group. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the research and reference functions within Information Resources, including planning, managing and overseeing the research teams in all US offices. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·     Manage the research staff by hiring, training and evaluating team members

·     Prioritize the work for members of the Research Services team and offer research coverage during all business hours

·     Ensure quality in responses to queries handled by Information Resources

·     Lead development of research and reference services and product offerings

·     Manage development and training sessions for Research Librarians

·     Partner with the Director of Information Resources in the development of strategic plans and yearly objectives and goals

Job Requirements

·     Master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences; J.D. desired

·     Minimum of six years of professional experience in a law library; large law firm experience is desired

·     Four years of supervisory experience, or applicable work experience

·     Knowledgeable about a wide variety of information sources both legal and non-legal and the ability to evaluate appropriateness or usefulness for the firm

·     Experienced in the use of electronic databases and in providing training on these systems for end users
